New Construction

New construction in Plumbing starts with meeting with the contractor and going over the plans. The details of the prints and making sure that we go over every detail is super important. We will go over each bathroom location whether or not we need to build a Chase for certain locations. We will also go over if there needs to be a 2 x 6 wall to put the 3 inch main in from the upstairs bathrooms. As the Plumber Jackson Wy questions will be asking the contractor. Does the customer want quiet pipe, which is cast-iron pipe installed from the upstairs to the downstairs? Another question is will they want a softening loop line then we’ll ask if they want a recline for the house will the homeowners be installing Undermount sinks. Plumber Jackson Wy Other questions will be asking. The contractor will be how many valves would the owners like in their master bathroom, typically it’s to one for the wife and one for the husband. But sometimes the owners want a rain head in there and body sprays so these are the details we have to go over to make sure we get the customer what they want. Plumber Jackson Wy we also asked the contractor where we are going to be putting in the radon pipe to mitigate it. radon is a toxic, invisible gas that is released from the Earth that hurts humans. So normally we have to run a pipe around the foundation and then connect it to a 3 inch pipe going out the roof. If the radon levels are really high, then we put a one directional fan on the 3 inch pipe so that it pulls the radon out of the house, not just directed it. Plumber Jackson Wy other options that are part of new construction is whether or not they want copper stub outs or pex stub outs or whether or not they want us to run their whole house in copper or pex piping. in some of our houses we have to make sure that the owner doesn’t want or may want their water pipes insulated. As a Plumber Jackson Wy you need to know all these details that go into a new construction home. Plumber Jackson Wy have to make sure that you cover all the important info and details. After that comes the bidding process. As Plumber Jackson Wy I take all the information and I go to my house, count up all the fixture units, do my analysis of what I think it’s gonna cost to do the job and I fill out the proper contracts to submit a bid. I sent the bid to my contractors email and it usually takes them a couple weeks to respond to me.

When it takes a couple weeks for them to respond to me, Plumber Jackson Wy end up giving them a call and letting them know that if we are going to do the job, they need to let me know if we got the bid. Most of the time they will say yes we got the bid and at that point then they have to put their 30% down. so then we meet up with the contractor and he gives us a check for the 30% down to buy the material for the house. Then we will go to the supply store, the plumbing supply store and we will buy pipe, we will buy fittings and we will buy glue and talons and water pipe. We also will buy pex fittings, the crimp rings, the isolator. This is all for your water pipe. The venting system and the DWV we will buy 3 inch and 2 inch and inch and a half pipe. once we are done buying all the material for the job then we will take the material to the job and we will make sure that the material is placed or we can do the job the most effective. Then comes the layout of the job we will come, and we will layout where our toilet lines go. We will lay out where our thin pipe goes in our main stack out the roof. After that, we will start drilling holes. We will get all the holes drilled for the DWV starting with the vents and then the drains. You always start with your vents when you are plum in the house in. This process usually takes about a day to do so then the next day we will come in and start putting pipe together. when you start putting the pipe together, you have to make sure that you secure it every 4 feet. And with the drain it has to be at a quarter inch per foot. The vent piping has to at least be a quarter inch per foot or level. We always go above and beyond and grade our vent pipe. Once we get all of our venting put together in our drain pipe put together and it’s secured every 4 feet then we pressure test we will take and block off all of the drains with caps. Then we’ll put a test gauge on one of our drains and we will air test the drain waste in Vent to five psi for 15 minutes. once an inspector comes in verify that the pipe is holding, and we get the OK because we passed inspection then we will take all the test equipment off the pipe. After that, then we get the pipe ready by taping the ends of the waterlines and the drain lines so that they can insulate and drywall before they insulate and drywall. We have to make sure that we put all the pipe together after the test, though after that, the next stage, as we come back after everything is done, that means the drywall’s been done. The insulation has been done. The flooring is in the paint has been done. The trim boards have been installed. The countertops are in. At this point this is when we come in and set our trim. That means we set the toilets, the faucets, the shower, trim, the kitchen sink trim and then we let the contractor and the homeowner know they can move in.
